Thenjiwe Niki Nkosi

is a multi-form artist working across a diverse range of mediums including painting, video, installation and performance. Throughout Nkosi's multifaceted practice, there is a core thematic focus: an investigation of power and its structures – political, social, architectural, ideological, historical – and an imagining of alternatives. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions in international galleries and museums, including the Fondation Louis Vuitton, Paris;  the Tate Modern, London; the Ifa Gallery, Berlin; the Standard Bank Gallery, Johannesburg, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Rio de Janeiro. Nkosi obtained a BA from Harvard University and an MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York, and is now based in Johannesburg.
