Hüseyin Bahri Alptekin
(1957 - 2007)
artist, writer, educator and curator. He studied aesthetics and the philosophy of art and sociology in Istanbul and Paris-I Sorbonne. He has worked as a press photographer and an art, media and design critic, and has also conducted workshops and seminars on contemporary art and design in Turkey and abroad. He taught philosophy of art at Bilkent University in Ankara (1990-1994) and was the coordinator of exhibitions and cultural activities for the Habitat II NGO-City Summit, Istanbul. He taught at Istanbul Bilgi University from 2000 to 2004. He ran a space called "Sea Elephant Travel Agency," a non-profit artist collective in Istanbul between 2000-2004.
He has recently taken part in the 9th Istanbul Biennial and 3rd Tirana Biennial. Recent solo exhibitions: "H-fact: Hotel: Hospitality/Hostility," an installation, homage to Harald Szeemann (April 2005, Sea Elephant Travel Agency, Loft, Istanbul), "Catching up" (February 2005, IASKA Gallery, Kellerberrin, Australia).

umetnik, pisac, predavač i kustos. Studira estetiku i filozofiju umetnosti i sociologiju u Istanbulu i Parizu na Sorboni. Radio je kao foto-reporter i kritičar umetnosti, medija i dizajna, a takođe je vodio i radionice i seminare o savremenoj umetnosti i dizajnu u Turskoj i inostranstvu. Predavao je filozofiju umetnosti na Bilkent univerzitetu u Ankari (1990. - 1994.) i bio je koordinator izložbi i kulturnih aktivnosti na skupu Habitat II NGO-City Summit, Istanbul. Predavao je na Bilgi univerzitetu u Istanbulu od 2000. do 2004. godine. Vodio je prostor "Sea Elephant Travel Agency", neprofitni kolektiv umetnika u Istanbulu između 2000. - 2004.
Učestvovao na 9. Istanbulskom Bijenalu i 3. Tiranskom Bijenalu. Samostalne izložbe: "H-fact: Hotel: Hospitality/Hostility," instalacija, omaž Haraldu Zemanu (april 2005, Sea Elephant Travel Agency, Loft, Istanbul), "Catching up" (februar 2005, IASKA galerija, Kellerberrin, Australia).
